Remnants Notes for Chapter 11

I said a lot on things concerning this chapter that were talked about last notes section. So I'll be quick about this. Mainly because I'm not in the best of moods right now, but mostly because there is little to talk about that isn't spoilers.

So there is a heavy horror aesthetic here, as many noticed, but really the big objective here was to pair off certain characters and see how they interact. As well as introduce a few more ancilliary characters I can bring in for future scenes so I actually have a better supporting cast. I've been meaning to give more batarians and jackals proper names. But it just took until now to make it a reality.

Remnants Chapter 10 Notes

Okay, a lot of things have happened since I last bothered to make an update. I'll touch on those AFTER the notes proper are addressed. Since this chapter is another two parter of sorts, this should be easy since a lot of this stuff is rather quick to go over. So, let's dive into the Dauntless and see what we find.

Remnants - Author Notes on Chapter 9

After a long absence, the resolution to the mystery. Apologies for the wait, but I hope it gave you plenty of time to consider all the clues regardless. Now, best not to get into spoilers yet. If you still haven't read the chapter, you should probably do that before continuing.

Done? Good. Let's start.

Behind the Scenes - Remnants Chapter 7

This is the reason what was originally one chapter was cut into two. The subject matter of one did not match what occurred in the other. So I decided to have the attack happen in a different chapter while building up to it in another. I think it came out looking way better this way and more consistent.

Behind the Scenes of Remnants Chapter Six

This is going to be a quick one, since this chapter is largely just set up for some future events. Although not distant future in any sense, but still there. Mostly this just gives everyone a breather to reflect on their current positions in the narrative. That and it has some fun elements I wanted to introduce.

Behind the Scenes - Remnants - Chapter 5

So this was a fun chapter to write. If only because it allowed me to be funny as well action packed. And I mean legit funny, not my usual using references or smarmy dialogue to elicit chuckles. Actually funny situations involving Zek and Taq and how they try to escape a relentless killer group of rival pirates.

Behind the Scenes - Remnants Chapter Four

Been a while, but you can't rush progress. However I promised myself I'd have something new published before the month was out. Lucky me, I managed to finish a chapter that ended up being longer than expected. I'm hoping this doesn't become regular, but you know me. Tend to go overboard.

Anyway, here's what you need to know about the Fourth Chapter and the Hollow

Author Notes - Remnants Chapter 3

Huragok, or Engineers, are an awesome alien species with a very unique and relevant backstory to the Halo universe. Why we don't see more of them in the regular games is beyond me, but hopefully this will be corrected in time. A lot of you had been asking about a specific part of the First Strike storyline concerning them. Well, now you got your answers.

Behind the Scenes - Remnants Chapter 2

First things first, I wondered for the longest time if going after the Ascendant Justice again would make sense. They have ships this time around. The thing is, I needed the Justice if I was going to get the Engineers into this story. Because I need the Engineers, I wanted to do things with them that would set up other changes and story elements further down the line.
